Epitome Of Elegance

Oh! Please don’t keep,

That rose so close to your heart,

And amplify its sweet aroma,

With your winsome art.

Softness of every petal, 

Seemingly increases manifold,

Every time you smell its fragrance and,

Unknowingly it kisses your lips of gold.

Its verdant leaves looks more luxuriant,

When you caress it on your glossy hair.

Oh, for heaven’s sake! Graze not that rose,

Along your face to trap me with hypnotic flair.

Is this some kind of enticing trick?

That I’m falling under your spell;

Or is it the elegance of your demeanour,

That stokes fire of love hotter than hell.

Power play (Sonnet)

You only see what your eyes want to see;

You only hear what your ears want to hear.

How can world run at your whims and fancy,

When you keep creating climate of fear.

You’re so concerned with your dirty interest;

You distort truth to hawk hate and revenge.

How far you’ve gone in your ugly conquest,

On corpses of man you love to scavenge.

You trample peace for greedy power play,

And frame innocents for creating unrest.

How far you’ll spread this social decay,

And build castles of success on bloodfest.

Look, you’ve torn unity and peace apart,

Now only Almighty could melt your heart.

The Pragmatic Life

How can I easily open my heart to anyone just like that,

World is not stone-hearted, but no one trusts easily and it’s a fact.

When my own image is hazy and unclear to me until now,

Is search of my reflection in someone else possible? Tell me how?

Life is not an easy ride where you decide your own destination,

Circumstances never comply with one’s whims and imagination.

Impractical solutions and ideas have never convinced my soul,

However, people in this world are more pragmatic after all.

I’ve no complains with this world and I know my Lord has been kind,

But I’ve learned from my loneliness, the art of seeking peace of mind.

Everything can be possible only when Lord is by my side,

Or else I need immense patience from Him to flow with the tide.
