STIRRINGS OF LOVE
How can one fall in love at first sight?
I often fail to understand.
I find no reason and no rhyme,
Not even logic behind such stupid stand.
There must be something really wrong
Or their feeble mind must not be strong.
But still I tried to contradict myself
And believed everything they say;
Wanting to experience it myself,
Hoping to find my love one-day.
In my futile quest found only this –
Mere physical attraction but true love amiss.
But I fell in love in a gradual way,
Like sweet poison given to me everyday.
At first, I thought she wouldn’t suit my book;
For she had no special stunning looks.
Finding my love in just a pretty face,
Ignoring inner beauty brimming with grace.
One day that moment gave surprise,
When her classic dimple caught my eyes
Developed fondness for her dimpled smile
And pleasingly naughty expressive style.
But stirrings of love was still not felt,
Now her hidden treasure began to unfold,
Winning my heart which was so cold.
Her buoyant, bubbly, youthful grace;
A blooming rose that seem so fresh.
An angelic attraction in her almond eyes –
The only beauty in seven skies.
The epitome of innocence; the frankness personified,
She has it all that my soul admired.
Her audacious approach towards the life
And carefree attitude that beat all strife,
Was all too winsome to resist.
Invaded my heart with that winning warfare,
To be plundered and captured seemed like sweet affair.
At last I had to lose my battle,
As my stubborn heart - now a slave of femme fatale.
